Keukule is a way of condensing a family tree. If my parents, aunts and uncles are generation 1, or if they all had the number 1 next to their names, then Grandpa and Grandma would be numbers 2 and 3. Grandpa's parents are 4 and 5, while Grandma's parents are 6 and 7. Another way of looking at it: Ancestor number 38's father would be assigned number 76, and mother would be 77. 76's parents would then be 152 and 153, you see? Double the number for the father and add 1 for the mother.
